Skybridge Capital co-founder Anthony Scaramucci had harsh words for former president Donald Trump, calling the seemingly pro-Bitcoin candidate a “transactional son of a bitch,” in a recent interview.
Is Trump Really A Bitcoiner?
The former White House Communications Director said he’s less optimistic about the former president than his fellow crypto moguls, and continues to put his political support behind current vice president Kamala Harris.
“You may get some positive cryptocurrency policies, but you may see a world in great disorder,” Scaramucci said. While admitting that the Biden administration stands “against crypto,” he noted that they “respect the rule of law” regarding certain court decisions tempering their power to clamp down on the industry.
“I predict there will be lots of progress made in cryptocurrency regulation if Vice President Harris gets elected.”
Scaramucci was among a handful of wealthy crypto executives to sit in on a meeting between industry leaders and White House representatives earlier this month, seeking to mend relations between both groups. Many said the meeting was tense and invoked anger from the crypto crowd, but Scaramucci called it a sign of “steady progress.”
Harris is yet to explicitly making any statements reflecting her view or stance on digital assets. The Democratic Party’s 2024 election platform, published on Sunday, contained absolutely zero mention of cryptocurrency, once again leaving onlookers with uncertainty.

What Scaramucci is certain of, however, is that Trump is still a “lunatic.”
“He can’t be trusted with the nuclear codes… he’s the most transactional son of a bitch you’ll ever meet,” Scaramucci said. “Today he’s for crypto, tomorrow he may or may not be for crypto.”
Trump’s crypto support has been aggressive in recent months, but was virtually non-existent before the election year. Though he promised to establish a “strategic Bitcoin stockpile” if re-elected in late July, he also called Bitcoin a “scam” in 2021, and suggested that it was primarily a criminal currency in 2019.
This year, however, the Republicans baked crypto directly into their party platform, promising to guarantee citizens’ rights to hold, use and mine Bitcoin in a personal wallet.
“If you wanna vote for Donald Trump I understand it, I’m not gonna refute it,” Scaramucci added. “I certainly won’t vote for him, cause I know him.”
